Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), which manages several popular channels, including the children’s channel Nickelodeon, and the company Parques Reunidos will work together to develop children’s theme parks in Europe: the first such Park will open in Spain in 2017. The parties have successfully cooperated for several years already: one Park they opened in Madrid, and the second, NickLand in Movie Park in Germany.
According to Gerald Raines, Vice President of VIMN, the company’s goal is to “Nickelodeon was everywhere where there are children. We are pleased to diversify our portfolio and move brands and Nickelodeon characters in real life by means of new family entertainment centers,” – said a top Manager.
In the framework of the expansion strategy of Parques Reunidos owns 55 theme and family amusement parks in the world, whose number of visitors is 22.2 million in 12 countries of Europe and South America. Amusement parks in the twentieth century has been a favorite place for a nice family vacation. However, as time goes on, in place of these parks came in other bright, technologically advanced, with new idols for children. “The old guard” was simply not able to compete with them.
